Classic Photo: Brett Favre’s Sports Poster-Filled Dorm Room, c.1989

October 9, 2013

An awesome picture somehow dug up by the sports gossip site TerezOwens.com! Some of the great old-school posters seen on Brett’s ceiling: Jose Canseco “40-40″, Jerry Rice “Goldfingers”, Michael Jordan “Big-Time” Door-Sized, Bo Jackson “Double Trouble” (Royals & Raiders), Dwight Gooden 1980s SI Poster, Joe Montana “Job Security”, and what looks like QB posters of Randall Cunningham and Warren Moon, among others. (Note that TerezOwens calls this “Brett Favre at 23″, but that would date this picture at 1992, when he was already an NFL QB with the Atlanta Falcons. Most likely, this is Brett in his Southern Miss dorm room, circa 1989.

Spain, 2010 World Cup Champions – Possible Championship Posters To Come

July 13, 2010

They were the favorites from the start, but in a single elimination tournament where anything can happen, and normally does, nothing is for sure.  Many teams were in the running to become World Champions; Brazil, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Uruguay and Ghana to name a few. But after 7 games and only 1 loss, Spain is on the top of the world, they are World Champions.

Iker Casillas - 2010 Golden Glove winner

This was a complete team effort, with a few names really standing out.  The goal scores are always a big part with Carles Puyol scoring to beat the Germans, David Villa nets 4 goals to lead the team and the one who scored when it mattered, Andres Iniesta, with the tournament winning goal.  While all these goals definitely helped bring Spain to the top, it never would have happened without one man, Iker Casillas. Not only did he help lead them to their first World Championship, but he was also named the Goal Keeper of the tournament, which is no small feat.

Penguins/Fleury Support The Steelers-Awesome Poster

February 27, 2009

We here at Sports Poster Warehouse have a special poster for all the fans of Pittsburgh teams; a crossover classic!

This spectacular print celebrates one of the most memorable moments of the Penguins’ 2008-09 season. Clearly on a high after a Sunday afternoon shutout on home ice at The Igloo, Marc-Andre Fleury got himself into the civic spirit just minutes before kickoff of the AFC Championship Game. As the Steelers were about to take the field against the Baltimore Ravens in the final step to Super Bowl XLIII and ultimate glory, Fleury stepped onto the ice for his first star with a Steelers football helmet replacing his goaltender’s mask, and a “Terrible Towel” waving in the air to whip the crowd into a Championship frenzy.

212

With a huge smile on his face in front of an adoring, enthusiastic crowd, this was pure sporting magic! Topped off by the attractive powder-blue old-school third jersey worn by the Penguins that day, and this is pure photographic and historic perfection. A SportsPosterWarehouse.com exclusive 16″x20″ print, complete with NHL and NHLPA official logos and a serialized NHL Products hologram for licensing authenticity, this is also a valuable collector’s item for years to come!
