When it comes to sports, Madison Square Gardens is one of the most historic, prestigious and memorable buildings in the world. It derives its name from the park where the first two gardens were located. As the venue moved to new locations, the name still stuck. Home of the New York Rangers, New York Knicks and countless of other headline events of the years, the Gardens is a focal point in the sports and entertainment world. MSG hosts over 300 events per year, however some of them are more prolific than others. Thus, Sports Poster Warehouse will help you recall some of the most significant moments in Madison Square Gardens history!
Michael Jordan Power Slam Poster
November 8, 1984 – Michael Jordan plays his first game as a professional at MSG, and drops 33 against the Knicks. He left midway through the 4th quarter of this game to a standing ovation from the energized crowd.

March 31, 1985 – The World Wrestling Federation presents the inaugural WrestleMania. The annual event would return to Madison Square Garden in 1994 and 2004 for WrestleMania X and WrestleMania XX, celebrating the 10th and 20th anniversaries of WrestleMania.

Victory On Ice Panorama!
The long wait is over! After more than 50 years, The New York Rangers finally capture the ultimate goal, the Stanley Cup. A game 7 victory over the Vancouver Canucks, winning goal by Captain Mark Messier - life couldn’t be sweeter. Madison Square Garden hasn’t seen excitement like this in years.

Wayne Gretzky FINAL FAREWELL Panoramic Poster
It was one of the most emotional moments in hockey history - after 20 years of thrilling crowds, setting records and winning cups, The Great One decided it was time to move on. In the pre-game ceremony, with friends and colleagues from throughout his career on hand, and a packed house at Madison Square Garden applauding as one, Wayne Gretzky gave his next-to-final salute to the fans while in uniform.

Kobe Bryant Airborne
On February 2, 2009, Kobe Bryant of Los Angeles Lakers scored 61 points in a 126–117 win over the Knicks. It is the highest single game scoring total for an NBA player at MSG.

The 2008-2009 NHL season is at it’s midway point. There have been a ton of great hits, saves and goals. The action has been both intense and fierce. The power house teams, the Sharks, Red Wings, Capitals and Flames have all continued to dominate the league, as they all sit at the top of their respective divisions. The Bruins and Flyers have both been major surprises this season. While both teams are in first place in their division, the big surprise is the convincing fashion in which they’ve done it, having dismantled many high quality teams in the process.
There is a new breed of young superstars that are currently making their ascent in the NHL. These players all have superb skill, desire and flash, and should all be factors in the NHL for quite some time. With that said, Sports Poster Warehouse is celebrating the great start to the season and to these young, up and coming stars with brand new NHL player posters.
